Three Athletes Shortlisted for Young Sports Personality Prize
Announced recently
Lionesses forward Michelle Agyemang, darts prodigy Luke Littler and batswoman Davina Perrin have been selected as contenders for the 2025 Young Sports Star of the Year award.
The trio have been honoured for their remarkable achievements over the past 12 months.
Agyemang played a key role in helping the Lionesses win Euro 2025, Littler won the world title for the maiden time, and Perrin surged to prominence with a record-breaking innings.
Littler claimed this honour in 2024 after his breakthrough year.
The finalists were announced live on a national radio breakfast show.
The 2025 recipient will be announced during a live broadcast on the Sports Personality of the Year show on the 18th of December.
The ceremony will be aired from 19:00 GMT.
The Football Star

Only 90 days after her first cap for her country, Agyemang played a dramatic and decisive role in England's run to European Championship victory.
She was introduced as a substitute to score key tying goals in both the last eight and last four matches.
These match-saving moments led to her being named the best young player at the Euros.
Later in the year, she was awarded the Golden Girl award for the finest emerging star on the continent.
She was also shortlisted for the Kopa Trophy for the world's best under-21 female player.
Agyemang, who has been on loan at Brighton from Arsenal, sustained a serious knee injury in October.
"To be named a finalist for Young Sports Personality of the Year is an honour," said Agyemang. "Thank you to God and I'm appreciative of the support I've received from my family, coaches, team-mates and fans."
The Darts Prodigy

Littler kicked off the year in incredible form as - aged 17 - he became the earliest-ever winner in history.
He secured a commanding win over Michael van Gerwen in the final.
His subsequent victory at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth competitor to complete the prestigious PDC Triple Crown.
And he wasn't finished there - his victory at November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he ascended to world number one for the maiden occasion.
At 18, he is the youngest man to do so, breaking the previous record.
"Earning a spot on the shortlist for this award again is a big honour," stated Littler. "Winning last year was a highlight for me and I've had another unbelievable 12 months. I want to continue elevating darts."
Perrin's Profile

Perrin is one of English cricket's top prospects and surged to prominence with an extraordinary and record-breaking innings in August.
Her brilliant 42-ball century in The Hundred is the speediest century from an England batswoman in T20s.
It also stands as the equal third-quickest women's T20 century in a top-tier competition.
Perrin ended up as runner-up in the batting rankings and was named the Professional Cricketers' Association's top young women's player.
"I'm truly honoured to be named a finalist for the Young Sports Star award," expressed Perrin. "This is phenomenal. I hope it inspires more girls to get into cricket."
