Major Moscow's Attacks Disrupt Power Across Ukraine's Capital
During the night, Russian aerial assaults have led to power cuts in large parts of the capital city, Kyiv.
A number of civilians were wounded while residents in eastern districts were experienced blackouts and dealt with disruption to water systems, according to municipal leaders.
Simultaneously, a seven-year-old child was fatally injured in a separate Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southeastern part, based on information from regional authorities.
Russian forces has increased attacks on power infrastructure over the last fortnight, while Ukrainian leadership has demanded "real steps" from partner nations to apply pressure on Moscow.
"What is required is not superficial actions but decisive action - from the America, the EU and the major economies - in supplying air defence systems and enforcing penalties," was stated in a public message.
Authorities reported that numerous aerial vehicles and over thirty missiles struck the country's power systems, labeling such assaults as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as the weather cools.
Government representatives said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and repair crews were striving to restore power.
A barrage of missiles damaged power facilities and residential structures in the capital.
Five out of the nine people wounded in the assaults on the capital have been transported for medical care, per statements from local officials.
Regional authorities said the city experienced intense attacks overnight. A seven-year-old child lost their life and multiple civilians were hurt.
The assaults come after evenings of bombing campaigns in the region, parts of which are currently controlled by Russian forces.
The entire country is in a state of readiness for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are harder to detect.
National leaders told the media that Russia was deliberately attempting to demolish the country's energy grid, with assaults already affecting fuel infrastructure.
